Morrow drives in five for Brewer

BUCKSPORT — Matt Morrow rapped two doubles, two singles and drove in five runs to lead the Brewer Falcons to a 12-6 American Legion baseball win over Northern Lumber on Wednesday.

Jeff Weeks added four singles for Brewer and Tony Bissell drove in two runs with two doubles.

Ryan Jursiewich singled, doubled and knocked in three for Northern Lumber. Trystan Pelkey singled, doubled and scored two runs while A.J. MacEachern rapped a pair of singles.

At Husson University’s Winkin Complex in Bangor, Bangor’s Curtis Worcester struck out 13 batters to lead the 18-1 Comrades to the win.

Andrew Hillier doubled, singled and knocked in two runs for Bangor while Worcester singled and drove in two more. Hunter Boyce and Ben Chrichton rapped an RBI single apiece.

Ethan Hall stroked a two-run double in the ninth inning for 12-8 Motor City.

Batteries: Bangor: Worcester, Hillier (7), Prescott (9), Chrichton (9) and Boyce; Motor City: Deshane, Curran (4), Gagne (6), Burns (9) and Eddie.
