Edgecomb men seriously injured in ATV crash

By Beth Brogan, BDN Staff

EDGECOMB, Maine — Two Edgecomb men were seriously injured early Wednesday morning when their all-terrain vehicle rolled over on Old County Road.

Christopher Dighton, 23, and Drew Wallace, 23, were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland — Dighton by LifeFlight of Maine helicopter and Wallace by ground ambulance, according to a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Dighton was listed in critical condition Wednesday afternoon, and Wallace in satisfactory condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Deputies are uncertain what caused the ATV to roll over, but received information that it was operating without headlights before the crash, according to the release. They are unsure which man was operating the ATV at the time, but believe neither man was wearing a helmet and that alcohol may have been a factor.
