Pelkey helps Motor City earn Legion baseball win over Trenton


BLUE HILL — Evan Pelkey scattered seven hits and three runs over seven innings to lift Motor City to a 14-3 victory over Trenton in an American Legion baseball game Monday.

Motor City was sparked by Pelkey and Cam Archer, who teamed up for eight hits and four RBIs.

Motor City got three-run rallies in the second inning and the third. In the second, Pelkey’s two-run triple plated Archer and Cody Collins.

Motor City increased its lead with three runs in the third. Collins started the inning with a single, scoring Gabe Melmed and Archer. That was followed up by Tom Burns‘s double, scoring Collins.

Jacob Maguire turned in a 3-for-3 effort for Trenton.

A two-run fourth inning helped bring the Acadians within seven. A single by Joe Archambault and an RBI single by Will Ricker fueled Trenton’s comeback.
