ST. FRANCIS – Lincoln G. Ouellette, 83, died July 15, 2013, at his residence. He is now living his fifth day. He was born Sept. 19, 1929, in St. Francis, son of Henry and Mary (Landry) Ouellette.
He served with the U.S. Army in the 79th Engineer in Korea. He was a teacher and principal in St. Francis for many years until his retirement. He was a customs inspector for 13 years and was also a scout master. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 0352 Fourth Degree, Jandreau-Connors Post No. 180 American Legion, St. Francis, Fort Kent Lozier O’Grady Post No. 9609 and a member of Disabled American Veterans. Lincoln loved to read with family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, ATV riding, hunting and snowmobiling, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family especially while on camping trips at his favorite place, Togue Pond. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorilla (Ouellette) of St. Francis; son, Jerome Ouellette and wife, Carol, of Fort Kent; daughter, Sonia Sabo and husband, Bob, of Smithfield, R.I.; five grandchildren, Ian and Simeon Sabo, and Zachary, Holly and Heidi Ouellette; and great-grandson, Joseph Ouellette. He was predeceased by brother, Benjamin; and six sisters, Leoneal Jandreau, Geraldine Welch, Marybelle Harvey, Dorilla Jones, Winnifred McPherson and Cole Morin.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. until times of services Friday, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Interment with full military services will take place at St. Francis Cemetery.
