PORT CLYDE, Maine — A 72-year-old Port Clyde woman with Alzheimer’s disease who went missing from her home Tuesday morning was found unharmed just after 4 p.m.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was missing for about six hours, according to Doug Rafferty, spokesman for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Maine game wardens and state troopers, as well as dog teams, searched the Port Clyde area throughout the afternoon for the woman, and more personnel was en route to assist when she was located at approximately 4:10 p.m., Rafferty said.

“She’s in good shape,” he said. “Just a couple of scratches, that’s all.”

No further information was immediately available.
