HARTLAND, Maine — Maine Warden Service divers are back on Great Moose Lake in Hartland searching for a missing Harmony man.

Maine Warden Service spokesman Doug Rafferty said Tuesday about 16 divers will search the water for William Witt, 66, of Harmony.

Wardens along with Maine Search and Rescue were still searching past 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Rafferty said crews will continue their search until about 6 p.m.

“We’re just going to continue the search and try to do what we can,” Rafferty said.

Wardens had fielded a call Sunday evening when a boat was discovered floating in the lake with no operator.

“We know where the boat was found, we don’t know where he went in,” Rafferty said.

The spokesman said wardens are searching in water ranging from 18 to 25 feet deep.
