HAMDPEN — Nick Lorenzo cranked a two-run home run in Bronco Little League’s three-run third inning en route to a 5-2 all-star baseball victory over Bangor East in the District 3 tourney for ages 11-12 Monday.
Bronco advanced to Tuesday’s championship game at 5:30 p.m. at Brewer, which defeated Hermon 5-4 in the other semifinal.
Evan Thomas chipped in with with a single, double and RBI for Bronco while Derek Gendreau added a single and double. Wyatt Harriman added two singles and also notched the win on the mound, allowing just two hits in 5 1/3 innings while striking out six. Lorenzo got the next two outs, striking out one.
Noah Missbrenner and Gabe Coffey each singled for Bangor East.

At Glenburn, winning pitcher Ben Spear aided his own cause with a double and triple to help Holbrook capture the District 3 title.
Bronco LL beat Holbrook in the first game of the championship round 6-1, but Holbrook captured the second, 6-4 to win the title, finishing with a 3-1 record while Bronco finished at 3-2.
Max Chadwick earned a save for Holbrook. Jack Slater chipped in with a double while Alec Gagnon, Josh Birch, Quinn Mitchell and Jacob Chapman each added a single.
For Bronco, Jack Thayer doubled and Alex Mahoney and Derek Cunningham each added a single.
