State final set Friday
The state champion for Little League softball, ages 11-12, will be determined Friday in Rockland when Scarborough LL takes on Kennebunk-Kennebunkport starting at 3 p.m. at George Hall Field on 250 Pleasant St.
Scarborough is undefeated in the week-long double-elimination tournament, and Kennebunk has one loss. A win by Kennebunk in the 3 p.m. game will force a second game, which would happen approximately 30 minutes after the first game ends.
A Scarborough win in the 3 p.m game would give Kennebunk its second loss, and give the title to Scarborough.
The state champ then advances to the Little League East Region Tournament, beginning on July 19 in Bristol, Conn. That winner qualifies for the Little League Softball World Series.
