WISCASSET, Maine — A 63-year-old Bristol man has been charged with two felonies, including reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, as a result of an incident Wednesday morning in the Wiscasset Town Hall parking lot that left a Damariscotta man seriously injured.

James “BJ” Fitzpatrick also was charged with aggravated leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, according to a release from Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline.

The victim, Michael Hanna, 38, remained in serious condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland on Thursday morning.

Police arrived at the rear parking lot of the Town Hall just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to find Hanna lying on the pavement and bleeding, according to Cline. Witnesses told officers that after Hanna was involved in a fight with another man, Hanna was dragged by the man’s car, according to the release.

According to Cline, the investigation continues and further charges may be filed.

Fitzpatrick is due to appear in Wiscasset Superior Court on Aug. 29. No further information was available Thursday afternoon.
