VASSALBORO, Maine — A local man is being held on several domestic violence and drug charges after Maine State Police allegedly found more than $20,000 worth of drugs in his home.

Shane Wood, 46, was arrested Monday and charged with domestic violence terrorizing and assault against a woman at his home, along with criminal restraint and resisting arrest, Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said Wednesday in a news release.

Later that day, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency investigators, deputies with the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office and state police troopers returned to Wood’s house at 48 Crowell Road and seized 8 pounds of marijuana, more than 1,000 prescription pills, more than 8 grams of cocaine and heroin and $5,750 in cash, McCausland said.

Wood then was charged with three counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs and two counts of possession. The MDEA says the street value of the marijuana and pills exceeds $20,000.

Wood is being held at the Kennebec County Jail.
