PALMYRA – Ruth E. Brewer, 68, died July 3, 2013, at a Dexter health care facility, after a long illness. Ruth was born Nov. 4, 1944, in Newport, daughter of Bert A. and Kathryn V. (Flannery) Brewer.
Ruth was a very friendly person and she made a lot of friends and was not afraid to always greet them with a big hello any time she saw them. She attended Peoples United Methodist Church with her mother for many years. Ruth attended Skills for more than 10 years and made a lot more friends. Later in life Ruth was able to attend Pine Tree Camp and had the time of her life. She was able to overcome her fears of the water and went for a boat ride with some of the other campers.
Ruth is survived by two sisters and their husbands, Ada and Dale O’Reilly of Palmyra and Bettyann and Clay Andrews of Palmyra; nephew, Jason O’Reilly; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; uncle, Gregory Flannery of Tennessee; and several cousins.
Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, July 15, at Riverside Cemetery, Newport, with the Rev. Ellen Bridges officiating.
