Evelyn (Round) Stockley

BANGOR and ENFIELD – Evelyn (Round) Stockley, 81, wife of the late Gordon Stockley, passed away July 8, 2013, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born May 11, 1932, in Winterport, daughter of Elmer Clifford Round Jr. and Carrie Agnes (Edes) Round.

Evelyn was a seamstress and was known as the bride’s dressmaker. In her career she made 30 bride’s dresses, 90 bridesmaid’s dresses, two flower girl dresses and a ring bearer’s suit and many others. She spent her summers sewing and canning nearly every vegetable from her garden. She loved cats, and many trips driving to Canada.

She is survived by daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stockley; and several cousins.

Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Leo Catholic Church, Howland, with the Rev. James McGee officiating.
