LAKE ARROWHEAD, Maine — Two York County men are in jail after a robbery at a beach in Lake Arrowhead on Friday, police said.
When York County sheriff’s deputies arrived, they learned a man had been assaulted and robbed by two men, according to Chief Deputy William King.
The man told deputies that $140 cash, an undisclosed amount of alcohol and his iPhone were taken from him, King said, and he was familiar with one of the assailants. The victim took refuge in a nearby residence after the robbery.
After speaking with the victim and witnesses, police were able to identify and arrest the suspects, Justin Poretta, 26, and Robert Lord, 20, both of Waterboro, King said. Both were charged with robbery, a Class B felony.
Both men appeared in court on Monday and Poretta’s bail was set at $7,500 cash and Lord’s at $5,000 secured or $25,000 real estate, King said. They are next due in court on Sept. 3.
If convicted, the men face up to 10 years in prison.
