HAMPDEN – Dorothy C. Parker, 91, died July 7, 2013, at a Bangor health care center. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Donald, in the care of her Lord and Savior.
Dorothy was a loving mother and homemaker and worked hand in hand with Donald in their store, Parker’s Bicycle & Hobby Shop, Hammond Street, Bangor. She loved gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles with her sister, Phyllis, and entertaining all friends and relatives that would visit. No one ever left hungry!
She is survived by five sons, Bruce Parker and wife, Quyen, of Silver Springs, Md., Douglas Parker and wife, Donna, of Little River, S.C., Roy Parker and wife, Beverly, Paul Parker and wife, Michele, all of Bangor and Peter Parker of Vincent, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Donald, her husband of 73 years; two sisters, Fern Bennett and Phyllis Allen Park; and two brothers, Ira and Neal Reed.
Family and friends may visit 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A graveside committal service for both, Donald and Dorothy, will be held Friday at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden, at a time to be announced.
