BLUE HILL — Jake Maguire successfully executed a squeeze bunt to score Jon Phelps, following Phelps’ triple, in the bottom of the ninth as the Trenton Acadians defeated Motor City 4-3 in American Legion baseball action Saturday at the George Stevens Academy field.
Steven Hanscom pitched seven innings giving two hits and not allowing an earned run for the Acadians.
Motor City starter Tyler Eddy pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up one earned run on four hits.
Anthony Bianco had a double followed by singles by Jacob Maguire, Joe Archambault, Mitch Domagala and Conor Maguire for the Acadians..
Sean Curran doubled and Ryan Gagne and Cody Collins added singles for Motor City.

At Penquis, Andrew Hillier turned in a 4-for-4 day and Curtis Worcester added three hits and an RBI to back winning pitcher Trevor DeLaite, who gave up three hits and a run while striking out three and walking three in seven innings.
Nick Ashey chipped in with two RBI singles for Bangor and Tyler LaPlante added an RBI double and single. Sam Stanhope contributed with a single and two-run double and Riley McKay doubled. James Prescott and Justin Courtney each added an RBI single.
Caleb Smith had an RBI single for Penquis.

At Heddericg Field in Brewer on Sunday, Motor City scored runs in the fifth inning and sixth innings and held off Brewer for the victory.
Motor City (8-6) scored its fifth-inning run after Cameron Archer singled and reached second when Evan Pelkey singled. Archer scored on a fielder’s choice as Brewer attempted to turn an inning-ending double play.
Motor City’s second run came in the sixth inning after Ryan Gagne reached on a fielder’s choice and stole second with two outs. Gabe Melmed then laced a double down the left-field line to score Gagne.
Brewer struck first in the fourth after Tony Bissell walked and reached second on a wild pitch and was driven in on Ben Pushard’s single.
Motor City was paced by Evan Pelkey who had two doubles and two singles. Tyler Eddy singled twice. Jon Deschaine picked up the win in relief, pitching 5 1/3 innings, allowing three hits, while striking out one and walking four.
Cody Collins recorded a five-out save, allowing just one hit and striking out four. Collins worked out of an inherited bases-loaded, one-out jam in the bottom of the eighth.
Brewer (7-6) was led by Jeff Weeks’ nine-inning effort. Weeks scattered 12 hits, struck out six, walked a batter and also hit one batter. Pushard registered two singles for the Falcons.
