Amherst man killed after ATV rolls over

AMHERST, Maine — A 46-year-old man was killed Saturday evening after the ATV he was operating rolled over and he was pinned under the machine, according to officials.

Kevin Clements was using his Polaris 6-wheel ATV near his residence in Amherst, which is about 30 minutes north of Ellsworth, according to a news release from John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service.

His wife found him shortly after his ATV rolled over at 7:20 p.m., according to the release. When emergency personnel arrived Clements was deceased.

Game wardens investigated the scene, and the crash is still under investigation.

Clements’ body was taken to Brookings Smith Funeral Home in Bangor, according to the release.
