Bronco ages 11-12 all-stars top Houlton

HAMPDEN, Maine — Bronco Little League of Hampden/Newburgh/Winterport scored six times in the first inning Wednesday en route to an 11-7 District 3 ages 11-12 baseball all-star tournament victory over Houlton.

Gavin Partridge propeled the winners with a single and a double, while Sam Economy and Evan Thomas each posted two singles. Wyatt Harriman earned the win on the mound.

Keegan Gentle and Nolan Porter each stroked a single for Houlton, which rallied for six runs in the sixth inning to make things interesting.

Lincoln 19, Katahdin Valley 3

At Lincoln, Lincoln scored 18 unanswered runs to turn a two-run, first-inning deficit into a win over Katahdin Valley in District 3 ages 11-12 baseball all-star tourney.

Alex Brown led Lincoln with a triple, two singles and two RBIs at the plate and struck out eight batters in 3 2/3 innings on the mound.

Connor Robertson doubled, singled and drove in a run for 1-0 Lincoln, while teammate Duncan McIntyre singled twice.

Steven Rackliff hit a solo homer to lead off the bottom of the first for 0-2 Katahdin Valley, while Blake Howes doubled, singled and drove in a run. John McNally hit an RBI single.

Hermon 16, Bangor West 0

At Hermon, Alex Applebee hit for the cycle and went 4-for-4 while knocking in eight runs to power the offense as Hermon cruised past Bangor West in a District 3 contest.

Keith Pomeroy doubled twice while Mark Mailloux and Cody Hawes chipped in with two singles each. Mailloux earned the win with four innings of two-hit ball that included four strikeouts and no walks.

Hunter Neal and Tyler Carmichael provided singles for Bangor West.

Bucksport 4, Machias 1

At Bucksport, Jacob Ames struck out 10 batters in five-plus innings to lead Bucksport over Machias.

Ames also paced the offense with two doubles and an RBI for 1-1 Bucksport, while Noah Scanlon drove in two runs with three singles. Dylan Wight contributed a double.

Noah Albert rapped a run-scoring double for 0-2 Machias, which was eliminated. Zach Cox singled twice.

Calais 12, Coastal 11

At Calais, Gavin Parks delivered a two-strike double to right field in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift Calais to victory over Coastal.

Parks finished with two doubles and four RBIs for Calais to support Blake Collins, who earned the win in relief. Drew Hayward and John Socobasin each hit an RBI double.

Owen Vinall led Coastal with a double and a single. Curran Granger doubled in the top of the sixth to give his team a short-lived lead. Austin Snow contributed a run-scoring single.

Acadian 38, Calais 2

At Bar Harbor, host Acadian collected 17 hits to eliminate Calais from the District 1 all-star tourney.

Jack Dacorte drove in seven runs with a double and three singles to pace Acadian, while Brady Renault provided a double, a triple and three RBIs. Nate Ingebritson drove in three runs with two singles, while Kyle Collin and Sam Mitchell each posted two singles and two RBIs and Jesse MacDonald added two singles with an RBI.

The winners (2-1) move on to play at Machias on Friday.

Tony Dana singled twice to lead 0-2 Calais. Caleb Sabattus doubled and Amuwes Dana added a single.
