TROY – Angie G. Fletcher, 82, died unexpectedly June 29, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. Angie was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Detroit, the daughter of Edwin and Araminta (Luce) Temple.
She was a proud graduate of Carmel High School, Carmel. She was married for 59 years to Herbert L. Fletcher who predeceased her, Dec. 31, 2008. Angie was a homemaker and for a time she operated a beauty shop in her home. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 50 of Unity, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, a member and staunch supporter of Carmel Alumni Association. She loved to crochet and was a wonderful seamstress.
Angie is survived by two sons and their wives, David and Judy Fletcher of Troy, Brian and Linda Fletcher of Troy; three sisters, Joyce Jones of Pittsfield, Carol Packard of Clinton, and Yvonne Pottle and her husband, Gerald; four grandchildren, Angelina Fletcher, Thomas and Deana Fletcher, Amber and Justin Reynolds, Justin Fletcher and Jenni Plumstead; six great-grandchildren, Landon, Jeremy, Chase, Gavin, Spencer and Welker. She was predeceased by a son, Steven Fletcher; and two brothers, Edwin Temple Jr., and Ronald Temple Sr. Angie will also be remembered by her special friend and caregiver, Lorretta Campbell.
Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at Rogers Cemetery, Troy, with Rev. Liz Sullivan officiating.
