BANGOR, Maine — A local man who hit a parked car with his vehicle on Broadway Saturday wound up going to jail when police determined he was intoxicated.
Myer Taskel, 60, ran his vehicle into a car near John Bapst Memorial High School shortly after midnight, according to Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards.
By the time Officer Kim Donnell arrived, Taskel was gone, the sergeant said, but officers in the area found Taskel hiding under a porch on Penobscot Street.
“The porch he was under was apparently his own home,” Edwards said.
Donnell responded and questioned Taskel and determined he had been driving while intoxicated, the sergeant said.
Taskel was placed under arrest and charged with an OUI and leaving the scene of an accident, Edwards said. He was later released on bail.
