DeLaite pitches Bangor Legion baseball team past Brewer

BANGOR, Maine — Trevor DeLaite fired a four-hit shutout Thursday night to lead the Bangor Comrades to a 5-0 Zone 1 American Legion baseball victory over Brewer at Mansfield Stadium.

DeLaite struck out seven and helped his cause with a triple and an RBI single for Bangor, which scored twice in the fourth inning and three times in the fifth.

Hunter Boyce stroked a run-scoring single to score Andrew Hillier (single) and Curtis Worcester poked an RBI double in the third for the Comrades (8-0). In the fifth, Kyle Stevenson tripled and scored on DeLaite’s triple.

Justin Courtney and Sam Huson lined consecutive RBI triples to complete the scoring.

Matt Morrow, Nick Moore, Tony Bissell and Chris Coleman each posted a single for Brewer to support starter and losing pitcher Jeff Weeks.
