LINCOLN — Anessa Wilde’s run-scoring groundout in the bottom of the sixth capped a six-run rally and propelled Houlton to a 10-9 win over Lincoln in the first round of the District 3 11-12 all-star softball tournament on Thursday.
In the first game of the day, Hermon scored 17 unanswered runs on their way to an 18-3 win over Bronco Little League.
On Saturday, Hermon will face Houlton in a winners bracket game at 3 p.m., while Lincoln will face Bronco in an elimination game at 6 p.m.
In the second game, Houlton finished with just three hits, all in the seventh, but made them count while also taking advantage of nine Lincoln walks and eight wild pitches.
Molly Schneider’s two-run single in the sixth tied the game for Houlton, while Sydney Lorom also had a run-scoring single in the deciding rally and Mercedes McAfee and Kylee Tyler each drew bases-loaded walk to drive in a run.
Abby Worthly singled and stole two bases for Houlton, while Wilde also earned the pitching win, walking two and striking out four in six innings of work.
For Lincoln, Kim Voisine slugged an inside-the-park homer, tripled and drove in a run; Kortney McKechnie tripled home a run and Whitney Taylor drove in a pair of runs on a groundout.
Also, Lincoln starter Haley McLaughlin struck out 12 batters in a losing cause.
In the first game, Hermon overcame a 3-1 first-inning deficit en route to the win.
Olivia Albert doubled twice, singled and drove in four runs to pace Hermon. Breanne Oakes singled three times and drove in two runs, Katie Windsor doubled, singled and drove in three runs and Laura Zenk tripled singled and drove in a run.
Samantha Ouellette and Kaylie LePage each hit run-scoring singles in the first for Bronco, while Camyrn Bouchard also singled and Zoe Noyes drove in a run.

At Orrington, Brewer defeated Orrington 12-2 and Hermon beat Hampden 14-4 in the District 3 Little League all-star tourney for ages 9-10.
Kaleb Bryant notched the pitching win for Brewer while Dylan Huff sparked the offense with a double and single. Gavin Carr added a double and Matt Gross singled.
Dominic Granda smacked a triple for Orrington and Anthony Chiapponne doubled.
For Hermon, Ryan Mailloux notched the pitching win and aided his own cause with a home run and triple. Carson Prouty and Nate Allain each added a triple.
Tyler Smith and Max Polo each tripled for Hampden and Jacob Lorenco singled.
On Friday, Houlton will take on Bangor East and Millinocket will play Sebasticook.
