MATTAWAMKEAG AND HUDSON, N.H. – Jacob Ronald Garland, 29, left us unexpectedly, June 19, 2013. Jake had a heart of gold, an infectious laugh and the biggest smile that could light up any room.
His childhood consisted of big trucks, teasing his little sister, a task which only he was allowed to do, and tearing up the town with his childhood friends. After graduating from Mattanawcook Academy, Jacob went on to start his career in culinary arts and developed into a very talented cook. For many years, he worked at the Coach Stop Restaurant in Londonderry, N.H., and it was there that Jacob found his family away from home. Jake wore his heart on his sleeve and always protected those who were near and dear to him. He will be missed everyday by his family and friends, all of whom adored and loved him to the moon and back. Jake often spoke highly of his many friends. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. Fly high, Jacob, you are loved and we are proud to call you our own.
He is survived by his loving parents, Clyde and Leigh Garland of Mattawamkeag; his loving sister, Tayla Garland of Lincoln; two very special nephews, Tegan and Ethan; paternal grandmother, Cressa Garland of Mattawamkeag; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Jean Twist of Lincoln; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mark York officiating. Interment will be in Mattawamkeag Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to gather at Mattawamkeag Municipal Building after the committal.
