CORRECTION:

An earlier version of this story should have stated that Sarah Mulcahy’s first marathon was in 2012 when she ran the Sugarloaf Marathon. She placed fourth in the MDI Marathon last October and recorded a personal-best time in winning Sunday’s Bay of Fundy International Marathon.
