SIDNEY, Maine — A 2.6 magnitude earthquake hit central maine at about 6:15 a.m. Friday, the U.S Geological Survey is reporting.
The quake, which hit about a mile west of Sidney, was 3.1 miles deep.
A 2.6 magnitude earthquake is considered minor, and property damage is unlikely, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. There are more than 1 million earthquakes under a 3.0 magnitude each year.
