HERMON, Maine — Jim Carr Jr. of Clifton made it 2-for-2 in the Sinclair Towing Service Pickup Trucks feature Wednesday night at Speedway 95 when led all the way in the 25-lap race.
Carr beat Doug Sinclair of Hermon to the stripe by five truck-lengths. Jason Haskell of Levant placed third, Mike Gilbert of Canaan recovered from an early race spin to finish fourth and Jeff Overlock Jr. of Hermon claimed fifth.
In the ladies’ series event, Nicole Smith of Clifton held Howland’s Amie Houde at bay for the entire 20 laps after grabbing the lead on the first lap. Houde tried the inside and the outside to get by Smith, but could not.
Former division champion Rhonda Wilbur of Hermon finished third and Erin Evans of Milo was fourth.
In the Little Enduros, Garett Hayman of Milford won a close feature, beating Henry Boudreau of Winterport to the line by a car-length. Boudreau had worked his way up from a fifth place start to challenge Hayman in the closing laps.
Boudreau finished second with Hampden’s Scott Bonney in third. Sam Betts of Brewer came in fourth with Dixmont’s Rick Gomm finishing fifth.
In the Stars of Tomorrow, Trey Brown of Winterport picked up his first win of the season in his first official appearance at the speedway. Alex Runci of Belfast captured second with Kyle Moore of Frankfort in third. Caleb Kalel of Stillwater and Marcus Dunn of Newburgh rounded out the top five in his debut in the division.
