Dawn W. Furbush

STOCKTON SPRINGS – Dawn W. Furbush, 61, died Monday, June 17, 2013, after a long courageous battle with lung cancer, with her loving family by her side. She was born Feb. 6, 1952, in Nassawadox, Va., daughter of Stuart and Doris (Waterfield) Snow.

Dawn began her working career working for Dresser Industries, Salisbury, Md. She was a legal secretary for various attorneys in Maryland and Maine. She also worked for the city of Bangor until July 2012. Since 2000 she had been active in Stockton Springs town government as the town’s recording secretary and was an active member of the town’s planning board. Family was an important part of Dawn’s life, she spent free time sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading and working on an assortment of crafts.

She is survived by and will be sadly missed by her twins, Tracy Dowling and husband, Warren III, of Ellsworth, James Furbush and wife, Jessica, of Delaware; six grandchildren, Lisa Hudson and fiancé, Calvin Robbins, Casey Hudson, Jake Furbush, Ashley Hudson, Warren C. Dowling and Jett Furbush; brother, Howard Snow and wife, Phyllis, of Maryland; aunt, Genevieve Delicata of Prospect; two nephews, Stephen Snow and Davis Bailey; as well as many cousins. Dawn was predeceased by her parents.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Stockton Springs Community Church, 20 Church St., Stockton Springs. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dawn’s memory may be made to Stockton Springs Community Church Steeple Fund, care of Seaboard Federal Credit Union, P.O.
