BREWER, Maine — What began as a medical call Sunday morning led to a Bangor pair going to jail for drug offenses, according to police.
Brewer police Cpl. Liz Kelley was dispatched to Maple Street around 9:30 a.m. when it was reported a man was slumped over the wheel of his vehicle, according to Capt. Chris Martin.
When Kelley arrived, she found Jesse Reed, 29, and Patricha Cloukey, 32, passed out inside the vehicle, according to Martin.
The corporal quickly awakened the pair, Martin said, and upon questioning, determined they were under the influence of an undisclosed drug.
It also turned out Cloukey had seven warrants for her arrest and Reed three warrants, Martin said. He had no information on what the warrants were for.
Cloukey also had 20 syringes in her purse, and Reed was in possession of two pipes, Martin said.
Both suspects were arrested on the warrants while Cloukey was also charged with illegal possession of hypodermic materials, and Reed with possession of drug paraphernalia, Martin said.
The pair remained at the Penobscot County Jail Monday morning.
