WATERVILLE, Maine — A 73-year-old man who police say has a long history of thefts on his record was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

Leslie Cimpher of Waterville had gone into K-Mart and left the store with several items, according to Waterville police Sgt. Dan Goss.

The sergeant would not disclose the value of the stolen items.

Police tracked down Cimpher behind other stores in the Elm Plaza and took him into custody, according to Goss.

He was charged with Class C felony theft, Goss said. Cimpher was brought to the Kennebec County Jail and later released on bail.
