Bucksport’s Adams, Skowhegan’s Obert among five finalists for Miss Maine Softball

Bucksport High School’s Cassidy Adams has been named a finalist for the Miss Maine Softball award.

Cassidy Adams of Bucksport, Danica Gleason of South Portland, Taylor Bannister of Gardiner, Shelby Obert of Skowhegan and Samantha Adams of Sanford have been named finalists for Miss Maine Softball.

This award is given to the state’s top senior softball player and will be presented by the Maine Softball Coaches Association during its senior all-star games Thursday at the Cony High School field in Augusta.

Two senior all-star games between East and West teams will be played on Thursday, with the Classes C-D game at 4 p.m., followed by the A-B contest at 7 p.m. Each game will be nine innings.

The Miss Maine Softball winner will be announced between the two games.

The coaches association has also scheduled two other days of all-star games with a freshmen-sophomores game and a juniors game on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., respectively, at Saint Joseph’s College in Standish. Each game will be 10 innings.

On Monday, at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., the Maine Senior All-Stars will battle their New Hampshire counterparts at Saint Joseph’s. The games will be nine innings.
