Woman who lost ring in Bangor has jewelry returned

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A ring that had gone missing earlier this week has been returned to its owner, according to police.

The ring, which belongs to Jane Meador of Colorado, who has ties to Bangor and East Millinocket, has her jewelry back thanks to an anonymous caller, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said.

Approximately 12,744 people saw a request to return the ring on the department’s Facebook page. Edwards said 96 people shared the post.

The ring belonged to Meador’s mother, who passed away in 2009, the sergeant said.

The ring had been misplaced while Meador was shopping in Bangor last weekend, Edwards said. She had put the jewelry under a credit card in her wallet and it apparently popped out while she had shopped at Walmart, Edwards said.
