BREWER, Maine — Police have arrested a Bangor woman in connection with a convenience store robbery in Brewer on Monday.

Meagan Herbert, 23, was taken into custody on Tuesday, according to Detective Sgt. Anthony Pinette of the Brewer Police Department.

Herbert was found in her hometown, according to Pinette, and Bangor police Sgt. Bob Bishop and Officers Jamie Fanning and Derek Laflin assisted their Brewer comrades in nabbing Herbert, Pinette explained.

Herbert walked into the Big Apple store on Wilson Street around 7 a.m. Monday, demanded cash from a clerk and fled the scene, Pinette said. No weapon was used in the robbery.

Herbert is being held at the Penobscot County Jail on a Class A felony charge of robbery, along with trafficking in schedule W drugs, a Class B felony, the sergeant said.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and charges against people who may have assisted Herbert are anticipated, according to Pinette.
