Agency sets up donations program

BANGOR — Realty of Maine announced that its new initiative, Realty of Maine Cares, will donate $1,000 each month to nonprofit organizations in the areas served by agency’s offices.

In May, Realty of Maine Cares made donations to Stepping Stones and the Senior League World Series. Stepping Stones is a Maine-based organization that provides programs to support child and family welfare throughout the state. The Senior League World Series is an annual summer Little League baseball tournament that brings high school baseball players age 15 to 16 from around the world to Bangor.

Realty of Maine has offices in Belfast, Ellsworth, Newport, South China, Brownville and Winter Harbor.

Accounting manager joins insurance agency

BANGOR — Varney Agency announced that Steve Nadeau of Bangor has joined the team as accounting manager for the insurance agency, working from the Bangor office.

Previously, Nadeau managed departments in the medical and textile industries for 18 years.

“Steve’s experience will help us as we grow into more accounting intense lines of insurance,” said Tim Varney, CEO of Varney Agency.

Nadeau earned a bachelor’s degree in public accounting from what is now Husson University.  Born in Winterville near Eagle Lake, Nadeau graduated from Fort Kent Community High School.
