DIXMONT – John D. Chauvin, 70, died unexpectedly June 8, 2013. He was born April 17, 1943, in Bristol, Conn.
As a child John lived briefly in various states but spent most of his time living and working in Connecticut. He and his wife Brenda had owned a pet store in Connecticut, he was a director with Melaleuca and he was a past president of Toastmasters, Intl. He moved to Maine in 1997. After moving to Maine, John found many caring friends whom will miss him dearly. He enjoyed racing at Speedway 95, supporting his favorite drivers and close friends, Darrien and Dustin Durrell of First Choice Racing. John was best recognized by his stunning tattoos for which he has won multiple trophies.
He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Chauvin; mother, Faith (Hooper) Chauvin; and stepfather, Gene Curtis Sr. He leaves behind his loving wife and partner of 29 years, Brenda (Ellis) Chauvin; siblings and their families, Linda (Chauvin) Parrish, Chuck Chauvin, Rick Chauvin, Kathy (Curtis) Flanagan and Gene Curtis Jr.; children, Cyndi Chauvin, Lisa Lachance, Julie and Lila Sorbo; six grandchildren, Jocelyn, Nicole, Stephanie, Joey, Jessica and Stephen; and many extended families and loved ones. The family would like to thank Joedy Labonville for her loving care during our time of need.
A service honoring John’s life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at Hermon Baptist Church, 2496 Route 2, Hermon, with Pastor Garnett Chute presiding. A reception will be held immediately afterward. Burial will be at a later date. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Brenda J.
