Wilton police investigate burglary, theft of antiques

By Ann Bryant, Sun Journal

WILTON — Police are investigating a burglary and theft of antiques from a vacant home on Moore Acres Road that was reported Tuesday morning by family members.

Antiques taken include a desk-size, junior grandfather clock, a butter churn and a bureau, Police Chief Heidi Wilcox said. The family is checking to see if other items are also missing.

Family members were at the home Sunday and everything was fine. They went in Tuesday morning, discovered the burglary and reported it to police at about 8:45 a.m., she said.

Entry into the home was not forced, but police would not say how the burglar entered the home located in East Dixfield.

Wilton Police Officer Billie Martin is investigating the incident.
