GRAY, Maine — With rain forecast for most of the week, flood watches have been issued by the National Weather Service in Gray.

Rain is expected to fall from late Monday into Wednesday morning. One to 2 inches are predicted to fall over much of the state.

Flood watches have been issued for York, Cumberland, Oxford, Franklin, Somerset, Androscoggin, Waldo, Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Knox counties.

Recent heavy rainfall has saturated the ground throughout the state and any additional rainfall is expected to quickly run off into rivers and streams.

The flood watches will be in effect from Monday night into Wednesday morning.
