Carroll R. Lozier

MILLINOCKET – Carroll R. Lozier, son of Emile and Ernestine (Angotti) Lozier, passed away peacefully June 6, 2013, in Millinocket. He was born Aug., 17, 1927, in Millinocket.

Carroll was a beloved brother, steadfast friend, and loving uncle. He leaves behind sisters, Lorraine (Lozier) Batchelder of East Hartford, Conn., and Jacqueline Louise Lorenc of Millinocket. Carroll also leaves behind nephews, Robert and wife, Rosemary Batchelder, of Trumbull, Conn., John Batchelder of New York City, and Brian and wife, Cindy Batchelder, of Pennington, N.J.; and niece, Megan Batchelder of East Hartford, Conn. Carroll’s great-nieces and great-nephew, Michelle, Chelsea, Claire and Scott, will miss their summer visits to the Lozier camp. Carroll will also be dearly missed by his friends, Patrick and Jeannette Welch of Millinocket, Diane Fisk of Medway, John Murphy of Millinocket, and Thomas Edward. He was predeceased by sister, Martha Lozier, also of Millinocket.

Aside from his service in the U.S. Navy, February 1945 until August 1946, Carroll was a lifelong resident of Millinocket. In 36 and a half years of employment with the Great Northern Paper Company, Carroll rose to the position of sulfite foreman for the Millinocket paper mill. Carroll was a member of Elks Lodge and American Legion, Millinocket. To those who knew, loved and admired Carroll, never has there been a finer brother, uncle or friend. May he rest in peace.
