Report: Suspect in custody after Trenton manhunt

UPDATE: Ellsworth police officers say they have a suspect is in custody. Route 230 remains closed.

TRENTON, Maine — Police are asking local residents to be on the lookout for a 16-year-old boy they believe is armed and dangerous.

The teenager is possibly armed with two handguns and threatened a teenage girl earlier Friday afternoon, according to Maine State Police spokesperson Stephen McCausland.

Numerous officers from multiple law enforcement agencies were in Trenton at 5 p.m. searching for the teen, who is believed to be on foot.

Trenton residents are asked to lock their doors and to report any suspicious activity to Maine State Police, by calling 911 or 866-2122.

Dylan Sargent is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. He is wearing light colored jeans, a green T-shirt and possibly a blue colored hooded sweatshirt, according to McCausland.
