BANGOR, Maine — A Levant man escaped injury Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle crashed through a fence and into a Bangor furniture store, according to police.

Phillip Moody, 47, was rounding the sharp corner near the McDonald’s drive-through when he experienced some sort of medical issue, according to Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards.

“He said he couldn’t take his foot off the gas,” Edwards said, who did not indicate what type of issue Moody was having.

Moody’s 2003 Chevrolet jumped a curb, crashed through a fence and into the Furniture Gallery store, which is next door to McDonald’s, according to Edwards.

Moody was not injured in the crash and Edwards did not have details on damage to the furniture store or the fence. No charges are expected to be filed.
