One-woman comedy show

BANGOR — The Gracie Theatre at Husson University will present Don Knott’s daughter, Karen Knotts, in the comedy, “Tied Up In Knotts!” at 7:30 p.m.  Saturday, June 22. The show is a dedicated to the memory of her father, comedian Don Knotts.

Tickets are $17, with discounts available for Husson alumni who are invited to the Husson reunion also taking place that day.

A true father-daughter story, Karen Knotts’ one-woman show takes the audience on a wild journey, with a host of zany characters all portrayed by Knotts, as she describes what life was like growing up as the daughter of the legendary Don Knotts.

Her blend of improvisation, music and natural-born comic ability allows her to create characters with a clean,  animated style, which earned her an L.A. comedy award for Funniest One Woman Show.

Knotts said, “When my father passed away in February 2006, I wanted to pay tribute to him in the way I knew him best: as an amazing, loving dad. It’s true he was one of the greatest and most beloved character actors to hit the stage and screen, with five Emmy Awards to his credit.  However, in my one-woman show, ‘Tied Up in Knotts!,’ I try to capture the essence of the man I always thought was funniest just being himself.”

Tickets and information is available at gracietheatre.com or the box office at 941-7888.  Husson alumni are invited to contact the alumni director at 404-5653 for discounted rates.
