DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — A local man aiming to run across the country to benefit wounded veterans is holding two fundraisers to aid his trip.

Tysen Ober, 23, has completed just 96 miles of his planned 3,500-mile run from Los Angeles to Lubec. His goal is to raise $50,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project — a charity to raise awareness and funds for injured service members. So far, he has raised $7,000.

However, problems with a travel camper have eaten into Ober’s saving account, he said, and he’s seeking some help in his journey.

Ober is hosting a bake sale at the Airport Mall in Bangor from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8.

He also will hold a spaghetti supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at the American Legion Hall in Dover-Foxcroft.

Ober’s journey can be followed on his website at alloberamerica.org and on Facebook.
