Hope man injured in late-night ATV crash

By Stephen Betts, BDN Staff

HOPE, Maine — A 50-year-old Hope man remains in serious condition Friday morning after being involved in an all-terrain vehicle crash Thursday night.

Everett W. Smith was flown by a LifeFlight of Maine helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after crashing on Camden Road in Hope, according to Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison.

Smith suffered severe head injuries and alcohol appears to have contributed to the 11:30 p.m. crash, Dennison said.

He was the only person on the ATV. Deputy Nathaniel Jack responded to the crash as did Camden First Aid Association.
