DEDHAM – Peter T. Murphy died May 27, 2013, at a local hospital after a seven month battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 4, 1957, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, to John W. and Lorraine (Ward) Murphy.
Peter grew up in Lubec and graduated from Lubec High School in 1976 and Wentworth College, Boston, in 1978. Peter had been a proprietor of Murphy’s Village Restaurant, Lubec, until early 2008 when he then became a car salesman for Quirk Chevy, Bangor, until his death. Peter was married to Deb Bradman, Aug. 25, 2012, for nine precious months. Peter was a member of East Bucksport United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing and playing guitar. He was a very talented musician who loved to perform and he was a woodworker.
Peter was predeceased by his parents; and older brother, John Jr. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; brother, James “Slim” Murphy and wife, Terry, of Lubec; sister, Madelyn Ward of Calais; parents-in-law, Don and Jean Bradman of Dedham and Dennis and Esther Trask of Glenburn; two grandchildren, Demetrios and Cassidy; several nephews, nieces and cousins; and a whole lot of very special friends.
