Cool Sounds Summer Concert Series announces lineup

BANGOR — The Downtown Bangor Partnership announced the lineup for the 2013 Cool Sounds

Summer Concert Series Thursdays, June 6-Aug. 1, in Pickering Square. The series sponsor is Bangor Hydro Electric Company.

“We are very excited about this year’s lineup. Along with bringing back some of the most popular bands, we’ve brought in a few musical acts that are sure to become fan favorites. Get there early; a lot of these weeks are going to fill up fast” said Jason Bird, Downtown coordinator.

The concerts start at 6 p.m. and are run in conjunction with the Fresh Air Market on Broad Street that runs 5-8 p.m. As many as 50 vendors are expected weekly.

Market items are handmade, prepared or raised by the vendor; emphasis is placed on Maine-made, specialty food items and produce, and will include artwork, baked goods, produce, specialty foods, handbags, jewelry, photography and more. Food vendors also will be on site.

The Cool Sounds Summer Concert Series lineup is:

• June 6, Brian Catell and The Jump City Jazz Band.

• June 13, Juke Rockets.

• June 20, Travis Cyr.

• June 27, Rog and Ray.

• July 4, Bangor Band.

• July 11, Dark Hollow Bottling Company.

• July 18, The Mallett Brothers Band.

• July 25, Retrorockerz.

• Aug. 1, Flash! in the Pans Steel Drum Band.
