Eugene W. Pelkey

LEWISTON – Eugene W. Pelkey, 84, formerly of Old Town, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in Lewiston. He was born June 3, 1929, in Jay, N.Y., son of the late Samuel and Edna (Sheldon) Pelkey.

Eugene married Leona (Dufour), Sept. 9, 1962, and she predeceased him in 2009. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He then went on to work for many years for Local Union 327 as a contractor. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Old Town, and American Legion Post 75, Old Town.

He leaves his three stepsons, Paul Thibeault and wife, Arlene, of Litchfield, Roland Thibeault and wife, Louise, of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Romeo Thibeault and wife, Jetta, of Kissimmee, Fla.; and two stepdaughters, Marie Thibeault and Jeannette Bell, both of Caribou. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ada Redmond of Amsterdam, N.Y., and Francis Pulsifer of Peru, N.Y.; and brother, Sammy Pelkey.
