BANGOR – Adelia Josephine Caputo, 94, died May 21, 2013 at a local healthcare center. She was born July 24, 1918, in New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Thomas W. and Grace L. (Cox) Hannington.
Adelia loved to do crafts of any kind, was an avid gardener and an artist specializing in oil paintings and pastels. She enjoyed life to its fullest particularly her summers at Phillips Lake and winters in Ormond Beach, Fla.
Surviving are two sons, Warren Dwelley of Oklahoma and Winford “Wynn” Dwelley and his wife, Linda, of Bangor; a special grandson, Troy McHugh and his wife, Susan, of Portland and other grandchildren; loving great-grandchildren, Danika and Travis Frechette, also of Portland; one sister, Ethel of Bangor. Adelia was predeceased by her first husband, Warren Dwelley, second husband, Arthur Caputo; a daughter, Janice Dwelley; several brothers and sisters and a close friend, Edward Ching. The family extends special thanks for the exceptional staff at Westgate Manor.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, director of chaplaincy services, EMMC, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the Cemetery Office of Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, 449 Ohio St., Bangor, at 10:45am Tuesday. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor.
