PERU, Maine — A Peru man is facing a drug charge after a bust at his home on Monday, according to police.

A search warrant was executed at the Stagecoach Road home of 19-year-old John Gallant after police learned he was conducting a distribution operation, according to Cmdr. Scott Pelletier of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

When police and drug agents searched Gallant’s home, cocaine, oxycodone pills, marijuana, psilocybin mushroom, multiple firearms, drug ledgers and an undisclosed amount of cash were found, according to Pelletier.

Pelletier added that Gallant had been distributing contraband throughout Oxford County. He was home while the search warrant was executed and arrested without incident.

Gallant was charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, transported to the Oxford County Jail and later released on $10,000 surety bail, Pelletier said. Additional arrests are expected as police continue to investigate.

Gallant is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 16.
