When Gold Star Cleaners owner Eric Pooler made the decision to move his Bangor dry cleaning and laundromat location to the Third and Union Street Plaza, he invested in the facility.
In return, customers will enjoy an enhanced experience while getting the same service they’ve always experienced at Gold Star Cleaners.
“We’ve been [at the Main Street location] for almost 30 years, so this is a big change,” Pooler said. “Moving wasn’t an easy decision, but we had to do it in order to keep up with the laundry industry and needs of our clients.”
The facility officially opened on May 9.
First, the new facility is 3,600 square feet, an upgrade its 2,400-square-foot predecessor.
Second, the equipment is new and significantly larger, enabling consumers to do more laundry in less time and at a better rate.
And it’ll be more comfortable too, Pooler said. The new Bangor location offers three computer terminals, wi-fi, tanning and two large-screen televisions, and charging ports for laptops and other electronic devices.
“We added tanning in our other locations about 13 years ago,” Pooler said. “[In Bangor] we have four 9-minute turbo booths, and our costs are half what a salon’s would be. One of reasons we are successful in the tanning business is that we are constantly replacing lamps to keep the light consistently powerful.”
The Bangor store also will continue to offer dry cleaning and personal laundering services and more.
“It’s a modern look with some modern accents,” Pooler said. “You can do all your washes at one time, all your drying at one time, fold it, and be out the door.”
Pooler said that one of the best ways to keep connected with what Gold Star Cleaners is up to is to sign up for its email newsletter, which includes coupons for the facility and its sister locations, as well as to find the businesses on Facebook.
