ROCKLAND, Maine — The paving of two major downtown streets is set to begin Sunday night.
The Maine Department of Transportation will conduct work from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays until the end of June, said Rockland Public Works Director Greg Blackwell.
Work begins on Main Street near the Park Street intersection and continues north to Rankin Street, Union Street and back to Park.
The Transportation Department will use grinding equipment for the existing pavement and then reapply it as it paves, he said.
Parking on Main Street will be prohibited during working hours.
