BREWER – Phyllis Ann (Clough) Adams, 78, wife of Charles Adams, passed away peacefully, May 15, 2013, at her residence. Phyllis was born Aug. 6, 1934, in Houlton, the daughter of Harry Clough and Vivien (Currier) Clough.

Phyllis attended John Bapst High School, graduating class of 1952. She worked for several local phone companies for 38 years, working her way to the title of group manager before her retirement. Phyllis enjoyed staying in shape by doing aerobics and walking the dog. She loved to shop and knit, as well as read, but her favorite activity was reading to her children and grandchildren. She adored her family, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother by all of them. The family wishes to thank Loving Touch In-Home Care for their wonderful care of Phyllis.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, Phyllis is survived by son, Charles Adams Jr. and wife, Sangdao, of Suffolk, Va.; daughter, Beth Smith, and husband, Raymond, of Bangor; grandchildren, Kristen, Jessica, Ryan and Carl; brother, Harold Clough of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family invites relatives and friends to join them for a memorial reception 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Family Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith Brewer Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer.
