WISCASSET, Maine — Police have identified the Wiscasset man killed in a single-car crash early Saturday morning on Westport Bridge Road.

Dane Bonang, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which took place just before 3 a.m. Saturday, according to a release from Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline.

Bonang’s passengers, Michael Snyder, 26, of Bath and Snyder’s 16-year-old sister, whose name was not released, were taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. Snyder was later transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Their conditions were not available Tuesday.

Bonang lost control of the 2006 GMC pickup truck, swerved off the road and struck two large trees, police said. Cline believes both Snyder and his sister were wearing seat belts. Bonang apparently was not.

A crash reconstructionist from the Bath Police Department assisted with the investigation.
